I really need to get back in shape. Every time I go to the gym, though, I’m just in agony for days. Maybe I’d be better off starting with a low impact workout on the AquaBlast pool punching bag.

The AquaBlast is designed for use in most standard chlorinated and saltwater pools between 3.5 and 5 feet deep. It works equally well in a swim spa if you happen to have one of those.
No pool at home? Not to worry, this highly portable device packs along for use in someone else’s pool easily.
Fill this punching bag with water and plop it in your desired pool. The weight is perfectly aligned to make it float just below the surface of the water. You’ll be able to punch and kick at the bag, all without getting your hair wet!
Additionally, this water bag makes a great replacement for dumbbells, as it may be curled and lifted underwater. Pick it up over your head or give it a throw and work those muscles!
Punching bags in general are great for toning muscles, particularly in your arms and shoulders. They improve overall strength and help with your core which in turn helps your stability.

How do you set up the AquaBlast pool punching bag?
Here is how to set up the AquaBlast:
- Push the air nozzle out by reaching inside the bag and popping it outwards
- Use the pump or your mouth and inflate the bag with 2-3 breaths
- Close the air valve and push it back in
- With the zipper open, hold the bag underwater, allowing large air bubbles to release
- When the bubbles stop, drag the bag back and forth
- Lift out of the water and check the fill level, repeating the last two steps if necessary, until filled
- Once full, pull the zipper firmly closed, then squeeze the bag to check for leaks
That’s it! Your AquaBlast underwater punching bag is ready for use. The bag holds about 5 gallons of water and should take about 60 seconds to set up (or even less once you get the hang of it)!
If you do see a leak when you squeeze the bag, try re-closing the waterproof zipper, making sure it’s firmly sealed at the end.
How do you store the AquaBlast when not in use?
Here is how to store the AquaBlast when not in use:
- Drain the water from the bag
- Clean inside with warm, soapy water or a small amount of chlorine to sterilize
- Hang with zipper open and allow it to air dry completely
- Flatten and store in case
It’s important to dry it completely to prevent the buildup of mold in storage, especially if you’re stowing for the winter.
If you plan to bring it back out shortly, just drain the water and let it dry before the next use. You won’t need to go through the sanitizing process if you’ll be using it again in a few days.
