Throw Throw Burrito Card Game – It’s Dodgeball with Burritos
It’s game night! What do you kids want to play? Sally wants to play cards, but Johnny wants to play dodgeball. It sounds like a conundrum, but I have the perfect solution! We’ll play Throw Throw Burrito by Exploding Kittens since it’s a mix of both games. So, how many people can play Throw Throw Burrito?
Throw Throw Burrito is designed to be played by 2-6 players, based on the number of squishy burritos and cards in the deck. If you have more than 6 people, you may use a second game set and combine them. This will allow you to play with 10-12 players comfortably.
If your family likes card games and dodgeball, then you’ll love Throw Throw Burrito by Exploding Kittens!
From the creator of the Exploding Kittens card game comes this family friendly game of Throw Throw Burrito. It’s a fast-paced mix of cards and dodgeball – with burritos! Make sure to clear glasses, plates, and other breakables before you begin – things will fly.
The Throw Throw burrito game is good for ages 7-125 and comes equipped with two throwing burritos made of soft foam. I know you might be hesitant throwing a burrito at grandma, but I promise that’s what these are designed for.
Just don’t try to use real burritos as a substitute when playing. I’m still finding queso in my hair after that last attempt.
If your family loves card games and Dodgeball, then you’ll love this game. It even comes available in the Throw Throw Burrito Extreme version. Take the game outdoors in good weather with 3 ft tall inflatable burritos!
What are the instructions for Throw Throw Burrito?
Here are the instructions for Throw Throw Burrito:
- Divide the cards into one pile of 15 for each player, placing it to their right
- The rest of the cards should be divided into two piles in the center of the table
- Place the “burrito bruise” badges in the middle of the table (between the two card piles)
- Set the squishy foam burritos on the sides of the table
How do you play the Throw Throw Burrito game?
Here is how to play the Throw Throw Burrito game:
- The object of Throw Throw Burrito is to score the most points
- To start, each player draws 5 cards into their hand
- The goal is to create matching sets of 3 cards, which score you points
- If you don’t have any sets to begin, discard into a pile on your left, and draw from the pile on your right
- Your opponent’s discard pile is your draw pile, and your discard pile is your opponent’s draw!
- All players move simultaneously – there are no turns
- The central piles exist for draw piles in case your opponent is being slow
- If you get a set of 3 matching cards, lay them in front of you, and that will count for a point
- When you get 3 matching burrito cards, you’ll get 2 points, but laying them down triggers a battle
- This could be a duel between two players, a brawl between your neighbor players, or an all-out war. Follow the card instructions to complete the battle
- Anyone hit by a burrito receives a bruise token, which subtracts a point at the round end
- The round ends when all the burrito bruises are gone
- At that time, each player counts their points, and the winner gets a badge
You then play a second round! If the same person wins, they’re the ultimate champion. If a different person wins, a burrito duel ensues to crown the ultimate King of Burrito Battling!
How long does a game of Throw Throw Burrito take?
A game of Throw Throw Burrito generally takes about 15 minutes.
That’s enough time for a few rounds before my Chipotle order shows up.
