Place this light up dance mat on the floor and get ready to play. Your kids will hop, skip and jump to depress the flashing arrows at the corners of the mat. They all respond to music, but the dance mat offers 4 unique ways to play:
- Flash Dance. This mode is designed for ages 2+ and uses built-in or your own music. You dance, and the lights respond to you, for a free-form dance party
- Dance Game. Choose between 5 levels of difficulty, best for ages 6 and up. It uses built-in music and you dance on the arrows, which blink to the beat
- Memory Game. It’s Simon Says in dance form! Designed for ages 5+ you’ll need to remember the flashing light pattern and step on them in order
- Music game. Designed for ages 6+ this mode uses your own music to dance through the 5 difficulty levels. It’s Dance Game, but with Bluetooth
An adjustable volume setting allows you to turn it down to whisper quiet or crank it up loud. Adjust it based on your surroundings for a fun time for everyone.
The dance mat itself is padded for comfort and durability. It folds down using special folds between the arrows for safe storage when not in use.
Do you need to wear shoes with the Kidzlane electronic dance mat?
No, you do not need to wear shoes with the Kidzlane electronic dance mat. You certainly can, if you want to. However, it boasts a non-skid surface that allows play in socks or bare feet as well. Choose whatever makes you most comfortable.
How do I connect my Kidzlane dance mat to Bluetooth?
To connect your Kidzlane dance mat to Bluetooth:
- Open the Bluetooth connections menu on your enabled device, such as a smartphone or tablet
- Press the small blue Bluetooth connect button in the center of the dance mat’s control panel
- Once the mat appears in your device’s connections menu, tap to pair
- When pairing completes, you’re ready to use your music with the electronic dance mat
If you don’t have a Bluetooth enabled device, the Kidzlane dance mat has an Aux cable as an alternative. Simply plug it into the jack at the top of the control panel and connect it to your device. While not wireless, it’s a great alternative where Bluetooth isn’t available.

Here are the instructions for how to use the Kidzlane dance mat:
- Unfold and place the mat on the floor
- Insert 4 AA batteries into the console at the top
- Turn the left hand knob from ‘off’ to ‘on’
- Select one of the 4 game modes on the left of the mat. These are pressure sensitive and may be selected with your foot
- Then, select a difficult level 1-5 on the right side of the mat. This does not apply to free play mode
- Push the start/pause button at the top of the mat with your foot
That’s it! You’re ready to dance! Press the pause button at any point if you need a break. If you want to adjust the volume, the right dial on the top console panel turns to handle that.
Is the Kidzlane electronic dance mat safe for adult use?
Yes, the Kidzlane electronic dance mat may be used by adults. However, at only 33in. x 35in. for the mat, you may find it to be more of a simple step than a rigorous workout.
That doesn’t mean that adults won’t still have a great time on this electronic dance mat. Just dance to the beat and enjoy!
