Giant Jenga – Jumbo Backyard Fun w/ Large Tumbling Timbers
Jenga! Jenga! Remember when Ted was busy knocking over Jenga games in the 90’s? Who invited him to the party anyway? Now butterfingers Ted can cause some real destruction with these Giant Jenga games! All I know is we are playing Jenga outdoors. The last thing I need is Ted to be knocking Jenga blocks into my Franklin Mint Mario Lemieux plates.
Jenga blocks all should have a measurement scale of being 3 times as long as they are wide. They also must be one fifth as tall as they are long. With those measurements in mind, giant Jenga blocks can be scaled up to the manufacturer’s desire. A normal Jenga game comes with 54 blocks measuring 7.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm (2.95 in x 0.98 in x 0.59 in). With the previously mentioned scale, a giant jumbo Jenga block could measure 15.24 cm x 5.08 cm x 3.05 cm (6 in x 2 in x 1.2 in) and stand 0.61 m (2 feet) tall.

There’s nothing better on a warm summer day than having a picnic with family and friends. To make your gatherings even more memorable, play some games! A large yard game certainly makes for a great attention grabber and gets the party started immediately. Tumbling Timbers is essentially a giant Jenga game of mental and physical skill. Stacking is a skill inherent in all humans and one of the earliest forms of geometry we are exposed to as infants.
The rules for playing Jenga are simple. You take a block from the bottom and put it on top. The jingle was catchy in the 80s and 90s, and describes almost every aspect in playing Jenga. Playing a game of jumbo Tumbling Timbers Jenga is no different despite the blocks being larger. Play Tumbling Timbers with two or more friends at once. As in traditional Jenga, you initially build the 2 foot tower which is 19 levels high. The 56 timber blocks measure 6″ x 2″ x 1.3″ and are of the highest quality New Zealand pine. Then take turns removing blocks and replacing them on top of the tower without knocking the tower down. For a better gameplay experience, place the tower on top of a crate (not included) to easily remove the bottom timbers.
This large Jenga yard game may be played inside and outside. If you love traditional Jenga, then giant Jenga makes a great addition to your board game library. Just keep the food and breakables away from your gaming area. You certainly don’t want to find a giant Jenga block in your potato salad.
