Levitating Bluetooth speakers like this UFO work by using repelling magnets to create the floating effect. The floating portion needs to be balanced on top so that the magnets perfectly line up with those in the base. Once they do, they’ll repel just enough to cause the levitation.
Power in the base provides a needed charge to the magnets. If your power goes out, the floating effect won’t work, and the speaker will drop. Thankfully since it isn’t incredibly high in the air, it should just land on the base.

- Plug the base stand in using the power cord
- Make sure that any switches are set to the ‘on’ position
- Hold the floating speaker with both hands
- Move it towards the base from the side, holding it about an inch above the base
- When you feel the magnetic pull is the strongest, gently release the speaker
It’s perfectly alright to move it back and forth a couple times to determine where the magnetic attraction is strongest. This will ensure it is properly balanced. It may take a couple tries to get it right, so don’t worry if you don’t succeed at first!
Additionally, it is recommended to set your floating Bluetooth speaker up away from other electronics or magnets, which may cause interference that unbalances your levitating speaker.
