PowerUp 4.0 Smartphone Controlled Paper Airplane DIY Kit
Are you kids trying to make a paper airplane? I swear they just don’t make them like they used to. Alright, how about we try with the PowerUp 4.0 smartphone controlled paper airplane instead. Maybe you’ll learn something about aerodynamics along the way. So, how much is PowerUp?
PowerUp airplane conversion kits range in price from around $20 – $80 USD. The cost spans three different models. The budget model simply offers an electric motor for a paper airplane, while higher end kits offer the addition of smartphone control.
With some paper, imagination, and the PowerUp 4.0 smartphone controlled paper airplane kit, you’ll be flying high!
I never thought you could take the simple joy of a paper airplane and make it better. I clearly thought wrong, as the PowerUp 4.0 smart paper airplane kit brings all the fun into the modern technology age.
This conversion kit allows you to take your favorite paper airplane to all new heights. In the box you’ll find:
- Dual Motor
- Spare propellers (x2)
- Cross bar (for stability)
- Trim card
- USB cable (for charging)
- 4 paper templates to get you started
While the four red paper sheets will give you hours of enjoyment, this kit also works with most paper, foam, and balsa wood airplanes up to 0.7 ounces. Feel free to let your creativity shine! If you’re fresh out of ideas, the PowerUp book offers more designs compatible with any of their airplane kits.
The PowerUp 4.0 model not only offers power for your plane but adds smartphone controls and stabilizers for more flying fun. It performs loops, barrel rolls, and other tricks – what plain old paper airplane can do that? A wind stabilizer helps keep things steady while you enjoy the flight.
With the motor going, your paper airplane can reach speeds as fast as 20 mph, with a range of 230 feet. If you fly out of range, the plane will safely land itself (though you still have to find it). You’ll get about 10 minutes of flying time on a single 30-minute charge.
Looking for more control? Add takeoff and landing gear and practice your moves!
This smart paper airplane kit is a great first foray into the world of RC and drone operation. It’s a great STEM activity that the whole family can get involved in.
Does PowerUp 4.0 have a camera?
No, PowerUp 4.0 does not have a camera.
It offers smartphone control, a gyroscopic stabilizer, and the ability to perform aerial tricks. Additionally, landing gear may be added for takeoff and landing capabilities.
