I’m so excited, tonight we are going to watch one of my all time favorite holiday movies, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. I’ll make some homemade eggnog, and we’ll break out the moosehead glasses. After the movie, I have a surprise for the kids. I bought the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation game – Twinkling Lights, and we can all play.
To play National Lampoon’s Twinkling Lights card game, players must match light patterns to score and win. Each player received two Red 3 pattern cards and one Green 4 pattern card. Flip and add new adjacent light tiles while attempting to match your color pattern. Win by scoring all your patterns before your opponents.
Help Clark Griswold untangle his lights with the Funko National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation card game – Twinkling Lights!
At the top of my holiday movie watch list is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. The hilarious and unbelievable adventures the Griswold’s are faced with make you laugh from beginning to end. It’s slapstick comedy at its best. In the end, Christmas Vacation is truly a heartwarming story about the holidays and being surrounded by family. Just beware, in the Griswold household, nothing is normal or works according to plan.
The National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Twinkling Lights card game created by Funko Games is another board game based on a fun-loving movie. The object of the game is to try to replicate the twisted maze of lights that Clark Griswold is using to decorate his home. The game includes pattern cards with colored bulb combinations, and you own the challenge of laying light tiles to match those pattern cards and score points. An added bonus, your red and green 3 and 4 pattern cards also feature actual quotes from the movie!
Beware, this game is more challenging than it looks. A single game will take approximately 20 minutes from start to end, and then you can play again. Each player will flip a light tile and place it in an adjacent square accordingly. Light tiles with a “+” sign can also be played on top of existing light tiles, and broken wire tiles help to stop a pattern in its tracks. The randomness and additional gameplay options add lots of replay value and ensure you never play the same game twice.
There’s no such thing as too many Christmas lights, and this family card game is a must have for the holiday season. Avid fans of the Christmas Vacation movie would love this game as a stocking stuffer! Please note, no squirrels were harmed in the making of this board game.
