The outer shell of the boots is made from a water-resistant Raintex coated man made leather. The bottoms are finished with rubber for puddling stomping. The gusted tongue keeps out debris. Let’s face it, there’s nothing I hate more than a pebble stuck in my shoe all day!
A thermal insulated lining keeps your feet cozy in a variety of weather conditions. Remember, though, that these boots are designed for all-season use. As such, they won’t insulate against extreme cold. I just grab a pair of thermal socks to help out!
How do you use retractable spike boots?
Here is how to use retractable spike boots:
- Turn the shoe over, so the sole is visible. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on your foot at the moment or not
- Insert the key into the small dome-shaped opening at the top of the colored spike ring on the base of the shoe
- Using a levering action, pop the yellow spike ring out from the shoe
- Rotate it 180 degrees, and then press to click into the opening on the sole
- Repeat in reverse to toggle spike plate the other direction
When not in use, the studs are completely concealed and flush with the base of the boot. They will only stick out if flipped to active use.
Should you lose your key (hey it happens) any other thin, flat object should do the trick. Try a nail file, flathead screwdriver, or similarly shaped household item.
