Medieval Bookshelf Insert – Travel Down a Fantasy Alley Nook
I love reading since I always feel transported inside the story. So, when it comes to displaying my books, I of course had to put in a Medieval bookshelf insert to bring a little of the fantasy world into mine. It’s like a tiny portal into the lands of your favorite fictional universe! So, what is a bookshelf insert?
A bookshelf insert, also known as a book nook or book alley, is a small, book-shaped diorama that fits into your bookcase. Simply place it on the shelf like you would any other book, and stack additional reading materials around it. Then, enjoy the tiny world within every time you visit the shelf.
Add a peek into a world of fantasy to your library with this Medieval bookshelf insert!
You could dive into that next fantasy story you just picked up, or you could bring the story to life with this Medieval bookshelf insert!
This unique book nook insert features a Medieval alleyway, with stunning attention to detail. Everything comes pre-assembled and pre-painted so there’s no tedious assembly required like with DIY kits.
Explore beautiful buildings, such as The Duck Inn and the Dragon Tavern. Check out the flowers growing in window planters on the street, and the sword and shield some daring knight must have left. The lanterns on the buildings even illuminate with the help of 4 AA batteries (not included).
Any lover of fantasy books will find a place for this stunning Medieval bookshelf insert. I personally love it alongside the Game of Thrones collection.
What are the dimensions of a book nook?
The dimensions of this book nook bookshelf insert are 8″ D x 3.5″ W x 9.5″ H. It’s designed to mimic the size of a book on the shelf, while still allowing enough space for the diorama inside.
It only weighs about 2 pounds, though, so it won’t add more weight than a standard book. Thank goodness, since my shelves are starting to bow as it is.
How do book nooks work?
Book nook bookshelf inserts work by using a small mirror inset in a wooden box to create an illusion of depth, like a long street. Then, details are added to the sides of the box such as buildings, lights, and other themed accessories.
The nook simply slides onto the bookshelf and requires nothing else special to create the illusion.
