Intex Explorer K2 Kayak – Perfect Inflatable for Novice and Pro
Do you want to go kayaking today? I thought we’d head out and enjoy a day on one of the local lakes. You’re worried how we’d transport it with just my little car? Well, don’t worry! My inflatable Intex Explorer K2 kayak is easy to transport. We can just inflate it when we get there! You’re worried how long an inflatable kayak will last?
Inflatable kayaks are designed to last for several years with proper care and use. They are made from reinforced vinyl that is puncture resistant and designed to be inflated and deflated regularly. Even if a puncture does occur, they won’t pop like a balloon; the leak can be patched with a kit.
The inflatable Intex Explorer K2 kayak is good for beginners and advanced kayakers alike!
The Intex Explorer K2, like many other inflatable kayaks, is a great choice for beginners. It doesn’t require a lot of investment, storage space, or fancy equipment to get started. It comes in a bright yellow color that increases visibility and helps you be spotted in case of an emergency.
Besides the ease of use and great safety feature, the Explorer K2 is a comfortable kayak. It’s a 10 foot long boat, making it easy to maneuver. Two adjustable seats accommodate two passengers, with a combined weight limit of 400 pounds. Whether you’re two adults enjoying the scenery, or bringing the kids out for a day on the lake, this kayak can handle it.
Explorer 2 is designed for use in small bodies of water, such as ponds, lakes, or mild rivers. A skeg is included for directional stability, but can be removed as needed. If you’re facing choppy waters, it’s best to remove it.
This inflatable kayak comes with almost everything you need to get started. You’ll get the kayak itself, two 86” aluminum paddles, and an air pump. Everything can be broken down or deflated for storage in the convenient carry bag. Also included are an emergency patch kit and a US Coast Guard ID, just in case. All you’ll need to add are some life jackets and you’re ready to go!
Can one person use a 2 person inflatable kayak?
Yes, one person can use a 2 person inflatable kayak. The seats in the Intex Explorer K2 kayak are entirely removable, so you can pull the extra seat out. Use the additional space for storage of your bag, tackle box for fishing, or a place for your dog to ride along.
Since this kayak is small and lightweight, it’s still easily managed by one person for paddling.
Can I leave my inflatable kayak inflated?
While you can leave your inflatable kayak inflated, it’s best not to for extended periods of time. While inflated, the kayak is far more likely to get damaged by something it comes into contact with. Not to mention, it takes up significantly more storage space.
With the built in Boston valves, inflation and deflation is a quick and easy process with the Intex Explorer K2 kayak. Within minutes you’ll be able to fold it up for storage, or get it back out for use. You won’t have to worry about tethering it so it doesn’t blow away. Additionally, even if you’d left your kayak inflated, you’d need to check it before use anyway. Temperature affects expansion and constriction of air, meaning the boat would likely need inflation adjustment anyway.
