Well Peanut, I think it’s time for a cage upgrade. You have more accessories than I do at this point, and you’re totally out of room. I think if we go with the Midwest arcade hamster cage, it should have room for everything. With a built in wheel and nesting spot, it eliminates the need for those as extras.
Hamsters need a habitat that has designated areas for all their life needs. This includes access to fresh food and water, and a place for refuse. A warm, dry home where they can build a nest to sleep is ideal. Additions like a tube or wheel are not necessary, but enjoyed by both hamsters and owners.
The Midwest arcade hamster cage is the luxury setup for your favorite fuzzy companion!
Midwest has created this arcade hamster cage as part of their Critterville line of enclosures. This multi- level home habitat has everything your hamster needs to be happy and healthy. It’s a traditional cage on the base with a stacked play area on the top. A clear tube allows your companion to transport himself from one level to another, to enjoy all the different amenities.
The base level has a water bottle that clips on the cage exterior, and a food dish for your buddy’s favorite chow. An easy open hatch clips securely when not in use, but allows easy access for cleaning and petting. Metal bars offer good ventilation, vision into the cage, and both safety and security for your hamster. The hamster cage habitat also has a built in cover which allows for additional tube units to be added on for expansion.
Upstairs, your hamster can enjoy a built in 6.5” wheel, ramps to navigate, and even a small den. Pop some nesting material in and watch your hamster make himself right at home. An additional tube cover on the top of this section allows for further expansion or to loop down to the base.
The plastic base unclips easily to allow for regular bedding changes. The top section has a flip open front panel for spot cleaning as necessary. This low maintenance hamster home is fun for pets and owners alike!
Should I cover my hamster’s cage at night?
There’s no need to cover your hamster’s cage at night. In fact, hamsters are nocturnal by nature, meaning they’re more active at night. If the noise from nighttime activity is disrupting your own sleep, consider moving the cage. A common area such as a living room may be a more ideal location.
A cover should, however, be used in some other circumstances. When you first bring your hamster home, cover the cage for a couple days so they can explore their new environment and feel secure. Additionally, cover the arcade hamster cage anytime there will be noise, dust, drafts, or other things that may disturb your hamster. Hamsters may become sick if they are stressed, so allowing them time to acclimate quietly is always recommended. A sheet or light towel is perfectly sufficient – you don’t want to cut off air circulation entirely!
