How do you wax seal a letter?
It may look intricate, but how you seal a wax letter is pretty easy. Place some sealing wax into the spoon, breaking it into smaller pieces if needed. Then, light the tea light and hold the spoon over the flame. Stir with a toothpick to alleviate any air bubbles.
Once the wax is completely melted, pour it over the area you wish to seal. Center the stamping tool over the wax and push down firmly. Hold it in place for 10-15 seconds to imprint the design. Once the wax has cooled, gently remove the stamp. If it is sticking, let it cool a bit longer before removing.
If you’re in a hurry, you can cool the wax faster by pre-chilling your wax stamp. By sticking the stamp in the freezer or in a bowl of ice water, it will cool the hot wax faster so that it will release quicker.
Once your stamp has fully cooled, feel free to decorate the raised design with wax seal pens for an additional pop of color.
Are wax seals expensive?
Wax seals are not expensive to create. A handle and seal lasts forever, and a box of sealing wax will cost around $20 for 600 pieces. This is enough wax for at least 200 envelopes, so about $0.10 per envelope.
