A surprise cake stand is the pop-up stand featuring a hidden compartment for all your goodies. The stand converts between a single-tier or two-tier format. It holds up to one 10” diameter cake with a maximum 6” height, or up to 18 standard sized cupcakes on two levels.
In the center of the stand is a hidden tube-shaped chamber just waiting to be loaded with all sorts of goodies. It measures 6” tall and 2.8” in diameter and may be used with both edible and non-edible treats.
Here are some recommended items to put into the popping cake stand:

How do you use a surprise cake stand?
Here is how to use a surprise cake stand:
- Place cake on stand
- Use clear sleeve around hidden chamber to cut a core in center of cake
- Drop base into the central tube, pulling the pin to allow it to fall
- Insert the spring, small end first, into the central tube
- Invert, and place onto base, twisting to lock
- Fill clear compartment with desired goodies and cap
- Push compartment into central tube until it clicks
- Place cake over top, routing through cutout
- Lock adjustable base in place based on height of your cake
- Frost over compartment to conceal
- Pull pin on central compartment to release the pop up
If you are using cupcakes, skip the cake cutout portion of the steps. Simply place them around the tier, adding the second tier above the first if needed. A cupcake cap for the popup is included so you can use a cupcake to hide the compartment.
This popping cake stand is also available with a music box option. In this case, turning the crank on the music box pulls the pin automatically when the end of the song is reached.
