Who ever came up with the idea to stick candles on a cake? I mean, no one wants to eat melted wax. I decided to fix the problem with chocolate edible birthday candles this year. This may be my best idea yet!
Edible candles are made from a thin chocolate shell that’s shaped into a rectangular box. It’s decorated with edible glitter or a similar type of accent. Then, a traditional candle wick is set into the topmost layer. Simply blow it out, remove the wick, and enjoy the chocolate treat.

I hate taking a bite of delicious cake only to find a pool of wax hiding in the frosting. Sure, it’s edible, but that doesn’t mean I want to eat it. Thankfully, that’s a problem of the past thanks to edible candles!
That’s right, you can enjoy these edible chocolate birthday candles right along with your cake. Simply light the wick and blow it out like a normal candle. Remove the wick and enjoy a delicious chocolate treat. Even better, the chocolate is designed not to melt while the wick is lit!
The wick is only about 1/4” long, so it burns for approximately 55 seconds. If no one blows it out, it self-extinguishes! That’s perfect for kids or the elderly, and let’s face it – I’m not going to complain about no spit on the cake!
You’ll receive a set of 3 milk chocolate candles finished with a gold-toned swirl design on the outside. Each is individually wrapped, so you can use them all together or save some for later. Whether it’s one on a cupcake or brownie, or many covering a larger cake, you’re in for a treat.

Do you need to cut the wick on an edible candle?
No, you do not need to cut the wick on an edible candle. They’re pre-trimmed and short on purpose, to allow for a quick burn without melting the chocolate.
Make sure to remove whatever is left of the wick before eating the rest of the chocolate candle.
