This Pentode radio tube USB flash drive is handcrafted from a real, decommissioned Pentode. The vacuum tube itself was made in the former USSR during the 1980’s. Instead of hitting the scrap pile, it has been upcycled into a unique steampunk inspired USB drive. The gorgeous copper coloring is real metal, which will age well and stand up over time. True to its origins, this drive also glows with an orange light when plugged in, though it’s now an LED inside.
The vacuum tube flash drive utilizes a USB 3.1 connection for communication with your devices. It’s also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0 if you have an older device. Most versions of Windows, Mac, or Linux computers will accept it. Modern gaming consoles and smart TVs also have built-in USB connections now, so feel free to use it for watching content there as well!
In total, this USB drive has a 64 GB capacity. That’s over 2,000 photographs or nearly 2 hours of video (depending on resolution). It’s perfect for most basic storage needs. In fact, the next time I have a long flight, I’ll be packing it along for offline movie watching.
