A cookie cutter is designed to cut rolled out cookie dough into a specific shape. A cookie stamper is used to press a design into already-cut dough, without pushing through. This creates an additional design to be filled during decoration on a pre-shaped cookie.

You may not have skeletons in your closet, but they are in your kitchen with the gingerdead man cookie cutter and stamper. This adorable double sided Fred cookie cutter and stamper readily helps with your holiday decorating needs. The cookie cutter side cuts 5 1/2” tall gingerbread men. As a bonus, you’ll be able to reuse this cutter for other holidays too! The flip side is a stamping tool, which will add a cute skeleton bone pattern into your cut cookies.
Though gingerbread is preferred because of its ability to cut well and maintain shape during baking, you can use your cookie cutter with other dough as well. Shortbread is another great option, and sugar cookies will work well too. Just make sure to chill the dough thoroughly before rolling and cutting! If you’re using a soft dough such as sugar cookie, try to stamp the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven and are still hot, instead of before baking. This will keep your pattern from spreading, making them easier to decorate.
Once your cookies are baked, use some royal icing and your favorite food coloring to decorate your cooled designs. Pop the cookie cutter and stamper in the dishwasher for easy cleanup!
While Halloween is probably the most obvious time to use a gingerdead man cookie cutter, they’re great for other seasons as well. Change up your decorating colors for a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) display, or bring them to science class for a fun treat!
