The FoodMarble Aire personal digestive tracker is a small, portable device that informs you on how your body reacts to certain foods. First, record what you’re eating in your smartphone app. If you’re in a rush, you can take a picture of your meal for later. After consuming the meal, you’ll then blow into the sensor on the Aire device. Generally, 2-3 times at various intervals after a meal is recommended. The results of the breath test are then transmitted to the app.
So how does the FoodMarble Aire work? As your body begins to digest foods, all the good nutrients get absorbed as they pass through your intestines. When your body struggles to absorb certain foods, they get sent to the large intestine to ferment. Just like wine or beer, fermentation produces gases, and that’s what the FoodMarble Aire targets. It measures the hydrogen output of fermenting foods, which ends up in your breath. The higher the concentration, the more your body dislikes it!

FODMAP requires the ingestion of concentrated lactose, insulin, sorbitol, or fructose directly to measure the reaction. The Aire only measures digestive output for meals you are eating. While it can be used to improve your food habits and your gut health, it should not replace the advice of a medical professional for serious issues.
