Are you ready for some fun in the sun this weekend? I broke the floating beer pong table out, grabbed a case of Iron City, and I’m ready to party! So, what is pool beer pong?
Pool beer pong takes one of the most popular drinking games and adapts it for your pool. A floating board holds the typical 10 cups on each end. Players take turns throwing ping pong balls into the cups, while spectators cheer them on. It may be played with non-alcoholic beverages as well.
Pool parties will be even more fun this summer with a floating beer pong table!
When it’s hot outside, there’s nothing I enjoy more than cracking a cold one and enjoying a day on the water. Now, I can combine the two with a floating beer pong table!
This inflatable game board is ready to spin the classic drinking game into a pool game. Simply inflate it, toss it in the pool, and secure it using the 4 tethering grommets, so it doesn’t float away. Note that tether ropes are not included.
The inflatable beer pong table has 10 openings for cups on each end, just like a normal beer pong set up. It works best with 16-ounce cups – everyone knows and loves the infamous red cups. Around the edge of the board are 8 more openings, perfect for holding spectator’s cups or spare balls (6 are included).
At 6 feet long, this beer pong table is slightly shorter than regulation length but it’s still a perfectly adequate size for a casual backyard game of beer pong. It works in any still water, so besides a pool, ponds, lakes, and other similar options work great.
When not in use for a game, this inflatable works great as a pool lounger as well. Flip it over so the cup holders face down and enjoy a relaxing float. Alternatively, keep the cups up for a social gathering spot in the pool, no game required.
How do you play pool beer pong?
- Fill 20 cups, using a 12-ounce beer for each set of 10
- Place the cups into the triangular formation on the floating beer pong table
- Ensure that inflatable is moved into desired position and secure
- One player then shoots a ping pong ball towards their opponent’s cup, from their end of the table
- If playing in pairs, both partners should take a shot
- Once all players on a team have taken a turn, the opposing team must drink the contents of any cup a ball landed in, then remove it from the game
- Then, the opposing team takes their turn
- Play rotates back and forth until one team loses all of their cups
- The last team with filled cups remaining is declared the winner
If you don’t drink alcohol, feel free to fill the cups with non-alcoholic beverages of your choice. Lemonade, fruit punch, soda pop, and iced tea are some great alternatives!
