What am I up to? Well, Dad fell asleep under the Candy Land board game blanket so we’re heading downstairs to play. I bet Jimmy five bucks that I could make it to Licorice Lagoon before he wakes up!
A board game blanket is a plush blanket that’s been printed with the design of a classic board game board. While it may be used for all the things you’d normally use a throw blanket for, it’s also playable. Game tokens are included to play the board game using the throw as a base.
Play Candy Land and take a nap without getting up using the board game blanket!
This adorable Jay Franco board game blanket features the classic game of Candy Land. A 60 x 90 inch polyester throw blanket serves as the base of the set. It’s printed to look like the game board from the children’s board game, Candy Land.
Included along with the blanket, you’ll receive 44 playing cards, 4 gingerbread characters (in red, yellow, green, and blue), and a mesh storage bag. That’s right, aside from being snuggly for naps, this board game blanket is actually playable!
If your games get a little crazy, never fear. This throw blanket is machine washable in cold water for easy cleanup. To dry, either air dry or use the low setting on your dryer. You’ll be ready to go again in no time!
Since everything packs up in a neat carry bag, it’s perfect to bring your board game blanket on the go. Whether in the car, in a hotel, or in the RV, you’ll have both bedding and a board game all in one!
What locations are seen on the Candy Land board game blanket?
The Candy Lane board game blanket contains the following locations:
- Peppermint Forest
- Nana’s Nutt House
- Licorice Lagoon
- Lollipop Palace
- Frosted Palace
- King Kandy’s Kastle
- Rainbow Trail
- Gumdrop Pass
It is based on the 2015 version, which has seen many changes throughout the history of the board game.
How do you play the Candy Land board game blanket?
You play the Candy Land board game blanket just like the original game:
- Each player selects a gingerbread kid token and places it on the start space
- Shuffle the playing cards
- The youngest player starts, and play passes clockwise
- On your turn, draw a card
- For a single-color card, move your token to the next space of that color
- Two color cards should move the token to the second matching color space
- With a picture card, move your token to the matching picture space. This may be forwards or backwards
- The first player to reach King Kandy’s Kastle wins!
Of course, there are a few special spaces to keep things interesting. Should you land directly on the square below a shortcut, you may move your pawn to the top of that shortcut. If you land on a dastardly licorice square, you lose one turn.
Always remember to follow the direction of the signposts, and you’ll avoid confusion! If you land on the same space as another player, that’s totally fine! Sharing is caring!
This game is designed for ages 3+ though I find it’s a fun time for the whole family.
