BrainBolt Memory Game – Solo or 2 Player Brain Teaser Puzzle

4

Look what I found back here in the dust. It’s your old memory game, Simon. You used to love that game, but lost interest once it got too easy for you. I saw the BrainBolt memory game just the other day, and I bet you’d love it. So, what is the BrainBolt game?

The BrainBolt game is a brain teaser memory game that can be played solo or against another person. Like Simon, you must press the light up panels in the correct order. BrainBolt, however, has 21 different buttons instead of 4 colored panels, making for a more challenging game.

The BrainBolt memory game is easy to play but hard to master – get started with simple instructions!

The BrainBolt game instructions are very simple:

  • Make sure it has batteries installed. It takes 3 AAA, which are included, and note that you’ll need a screwdriver to access them.
  • Next, use the side power button to turn it on.
  • Select the mode you’d like to play. BrainBolt can be played solo, or versus another player.
  • For an additional challenge, an optional timed mode and an advanced mode are available.
  • Once you’ve made your desired selections, the game will start automatically.

How to play BrainBolt:

Once you’re ready to go, here’s how to play BrainBolt:

  • BrainBolt will begin by lighting up one of the 21 different squares on the board. The squares light in green, yellow, or red colors.
  • Press the lit square, and it will light up a different square.
  • Continue pressing the newly lit square in the sequence each time. It seems simple in concept, but the further you go into the pattern, the more difficult it is to identify which one is newly lit.

Two other variations of solo mode are available as well. Timed mode adds a time limit of 45 seconds to BrainBolt. The player must complete the entire pattern in 45 seconds to be successful.

If timed mode makes you sweat too much, try out advanced mode instead. To play advanced mode in BrainBolt, you’ll play as normal until only 4 tiles remain. From then on, every time a new tile lights, another one goes out.

You’ll have to continue to identify the new tile in the same manner, but play will go on indefinitely until you make a mistake.

How to play BrainBolt against another player

If you think you’ve mastered BrainBolt in solo mode, try versus mode, where you can go head-to-head with another player.

Here’s how to play BrainBolt against another player:

  • Players share a board
  • One side of the board lights up to show whose turn it is
  • On their turn, the player must follow the same sequence as solo, where they press each new button that lights
  • If they get one incorrect, the opposing player earns 1 point and the round ends.
  • After 5 seconds, a new round starts, and the opposing player gets a chance to play.
  • The first player to 5 points wins!

What age is BrainBolt for?

BrainBolt is recommended for ages 7 and up. It’s a game that’s perfect for kids and adults alike. It can help with keeping the mind active, keeping kids engaged, and even tuning motor skills.

It’s highly portable, as it fits easily in a purse or backpack. Keep the kids entertained on car rides, at doctor’s appointments, or in the grocery store! You can even turn the sound off, so it doesn’t disturb others if you’re sharing space, like a plane trip.
