Widescreen Inflatable Movie Screen – Top Outdoor Cinema!
You kids want to go to the movies? Well, how about instead of going out, I blow up the Gemmy widescreen inflatable movie screen for the backyard? It’s a beautiful night out, so it’ll be just like going to the drive-in. Without, you know, me having to drive anywhere.
Inflatable movie screens are good for backyard or neighborhood watch parties. These large screens are easy to set up and take down quickly. They provide a large, blank space on which to project TV, movies, or games. Due to their size, they can provide comfortable viewing for larger groups.
An inflatable movie screen is an affordable way to bring the big picture into the comfort of your backyard!
This fantastic widescreen inflatable movie screen is created by Gemmy, leaders in outdoor inflatables. At a whopping 12.5 ft corner to corner measurement, this is truly the big screen for your backyard. It’s compatible with 16:9 aspect ratio, for showing all your high definition videos.
A built-in fan allows the blow up projector screen to self-inflate in just seconds. Turn it off, and it will collapse down easily for storage. This makes it perfect for backyard get-togethers, but easy to store out of the way when not in use.
An inflatable screen is great for watching live TV – have everyone over to watch the big game! It’s also great for movie nights, so go ahead and have the neighbors over for a watch party. Game night isn’t out of the question either, as long as you can hook up your console to a projector. I’ve never seen Mario so big! Still can’t decide what to watch? Check out the top 100 classic movies of all time. You’re sure to find something everyone will enjoy.
Note that this is a blow up screen only. You will need a separate projector to display the image. The projector will need to connect to a laptop, disc player, or console to provide the video. If your projector does not have speakers, plan to add those as well.
Are inflatable movie screens noisy?
Inflatable movie screens are only as noisy as the fans that provide inflation. In the case of this Gemmy, two fans are encased in the base, providing fairly quiet airflow. It’s no noisier than a standard box fan.
Remember that the screen itself will not produce audio. As such, the noise levels may be negligible. Your computer speakers or similar system will put out the sound, and are likely to be much closer to you than the screen. Most often, as long as you’re sitting far enough away to get a good view, the fan won’t bother you.
How do you secure an inflatable movie screen?
You secure an inflatable movie screen by using lawn stakes and tie downs. Screw-shaped stakes will provide a stronger hold. Tent style stakes will provide additional support, but are not the primary securing system.
This particular model comes with 8 screw-based stakes, 8 plastic tent-style stakes, and 8 cable tethers. Simply inflate your screen, twist or push the stakes into the lawn, then attach the tethers. Make sure to adjust until tightened, and you’re all set.
Note that even with a tethering system, these cinema screens are not designed to be left outdoors during severe weather. While a light drizzle won’t hurt anything, heavy wind, hail, and other conditions will cause damage.
If you’re using the inflatable screen indoors (which is totally fine), then you may not need to tether at all. Use a sandbag style weight to give it stability. If the movie screen droops, then use the tethers to tie off to a doorknob or similar for extra support.
How do you clean an inflatable screen?
If you need to clean an inflatable screen, simply dampen a soft cloth. Spot clean the screen while in its inflated state. If needed, a mild dish detergent may be used as well. Once cleaned, allow it to dry completely before storing.
Make sure to use a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, as you may otherwise damage your screen. Do not use any harsh cleaners or chemicals.
