Self Watering Plant Globes for Easy Gardening while Traveling

How do water globes work?
Here is how water globes work:
- Fill the round reservoir with water
- Flip, and press the long spout end into the soil near the base of the plant
- Do not push it so far in that the stem touches the bottom of the pot
- As the soil around the plant dries, the ball releases water to rehydrate
- This keeps your plant consistently moist
If you insert the globe and it immediately drains, it is most likely that your soil was extremely dry. You’ll want to refill your water bulb and try again to get your plant back on track.
Should the issue persist, check for any cracks or breaks in the bulb or stem. As glass, this certainly can happen, and will alter the effectiveness.
How long do watering globes last?
Watering globes generally last 1-2 weeks before needing to be refilled. The time varies depending on soil type, plant type and size, as well as the size of the globe.
Self watering bulbs are highly effective for use when traveling away from home for extended time. They’re also great for reducing time spent on plant maintenance even when you are home!
