Where is that enchanting music coming from? Oh, it’s your clock! Look at all the beautiful moving parts too! It’s a Viola Entertainer Rhythm clock, and it does all that in addition to telling time? I think I might have to get one for myself. Where are Rhythm clocks made?
Rhythm clocks are primarily made in China. However, parts may be created or assembled in other countries as well. Frames are often produced in Vietnam and shipped to Hong Kong for final assembly. The Rhythm clock corporation is headquartered in Japan, with offices worldwide.

The Viola Entertainer Rhythm clock is an incredibly unique wall clock. The plastic frame is classic walnut brown color, and shaped to resemble the body of a viola. The glass top allows you to peer inside the clock at the beautiful figures inside.
At the top of the viola, 3 trumpet playing figures sit upon a rocking pendulum. They rock back and forth as the seconds tick by, along a trail of musical notes. At the base, a golden castle features two levels of figures that slowly turn. The top half are dancing, the bottom are angelic trumpet players.
The real show begins at the top of each hour. The castle will light up with LED lights that sparkle and shine, and one of 30 melodies will play. You select between three song groupings: 12 popular melodies, 12 classic melodies, and 6 Christmas songs. The lights are synchronized to each of the melodies, adding to the effect! Note that a built in light sensor will prevent the clock from chiming at night, so it doesn’t wake you up.
The back of your clock features a complete printed song list for reference any time. The popular melodies include favorites such as Beautiful Dreamer, Greensleeves, or My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean. Selections from the classic songs are Nocturne op.9-2, Canon, and Four Seasons – Winter. Christmas tunes such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night, and Joy to the World provide festive additions during the holiday season.
How do I set the time on a Rhythm clock?
To set the time on a Rhythm clock, remove the battery cover located on the back of the clock. In between the battery compartments, you will find a knob. This knob controls the hands of the clock. Remove a battery to stop the hands, then rotate the hands to the current time using the knob.
Replace the battery and the battery cover, and then return the clock to the wall. Note that a Rhythm clock is an analog clock, so it will not adjust for Daylight Savings time. You will need to make a manual adjustment if you observe DST.
For other settings on the clock, refer to the control panel located on the side of the clock, near the bottom right corner. Here, you can adjust the music volume up and down, switch between melody sets, or even turn the sound off if you prefer. The monitor function allows you to start up the lights and sounds without waiting for the top of the hour. Show off to your friends! Finally, the reset button will set the chosen song grouping back to the start of the playlist.
