The power is out again, and I forgot to buy batteries when I was at the store! Good thing I happen to have a HydraLight water powered flashlight on hand. Now if I can avoid stubbing my toes on the way to the sink, I’ll be in good shape.
A water powered flashlight is a light that runs on water instead of batteries. It does this by creating a reaction with the water that fills an internal power cell. This particular version is a small, portable version, which runs for about 3 days on a single charge.
Always have light available in an emergency with a water powered flashlight on hand!
The last thing I want to do in an emergency is fumble around looking for batteries for a light. Thankfully, with a HydraLight water powered flashlight, that’s no longer a worry. All you need is the small, portable light and some water.
Hydra Lights work by activating upon contact with water. To use your water powered flashlight:
- Remove the seal
- Dip the base into water up to the marked line
- Hold for 15 seconds
That’s enough to power up the light, which emits from two LED bulbs on the top of the unit. An on/off toggle switch allows you to turn them off and save some power for later as well, if needed.
This pack contains 3 highly portable water powered flashlights, one each in white, green, and yellow. At only 2.75” H x 1.6” W x 0.5” D, they fit easily into a purse, backpack, bug out bag, or glove compartment. They’re also drop resistant, so don’t worry about knocking them around a little.
Since there are no batteries required, these small lights are ideal for all sorts of situations. Camping and hiking, on hand for car trouble, in a natural disaster evacuation, or any other place you may be without power are some of the most useful places to have one.
Until you remove the seal, these lights are completely safe for storage and have incredible shelf life. They’re something you can store just to have on hand for worst-case scenarios. It’s always good to be prepared in an emergency!
How long does the Hydra Light fuel cell last?
The Hydra Light fuel cell lasts approximately 72 hours in these mini water powered flashlights. By turning them off when not needed, you’re able to preserve the number of days of use.
These portable units are disposable and only designed for single use. Once they’re done, they’re done, and may not be recharged or reactivated.
