Burns everything in random spots while other spots will stay frozen.
I converted this to propane, which was a bit confusing. Took a while to figure out the proper burner tips necessary, as the kit I bought didn't quite match the range as far as the instructions were concerned. I was able to locate the proper instructions online which more closely matched the burner configuration.
I checked the oven box temperature with an external probe and the stove and thermometer matched very closely. The oven does rise past the set temp when it first heats up significantly, but once it hits your set temp and the burners shut off, the temperature rapidly falls back to where it should be and maintains very well. It does seem to cook faster than, say, the food box instructions indicate. I've learned to keep an eye on food items such as frozen pizzas, shaving a few minutes off.
Now the con, and it's a big one though not able to be overcome. The top burners are notoriously easy to accidentally turn on. As others have stated, simply brushing up against them can fire them up. I can't recall how many times this happened in the first week just reaching up over the range to retrieve something from the microwave, or a pot (we have hanging over the cook area). The real scare was when I came down from showering to discover one of our dogs, in an attempt to lick a griddle we had cooling at the back of the range, turned the front burner on--sans ignition! The smell of gas was overwhelming. Fortunately, I was home. It hadn't been hissing gas very long and I was able to air out the house. But could have been catastrophic. Apparently, this is not the only gas range to have this issue. A quick search will turn up dozens of articles, exposes', and similar stories. A quick push and flip, and you go right past the piezo ignition straight to gas gushing out. Almost a deal breaker, we made a wooden plank to fit behind the knobs to keep them from being pushed in. Then, after reading an article about gas stoves and this hazard, I found an after-market company that makes safe range knobs that require you to pinch, push, then turn. This completely eliminates the problem. It was, in the end, worth the extra expenditure considering how many other manufacturers' ranges have this problem.
To end, we love cooking with this gas range. It's beautiful, relatively easy to maintain and keep clean, and handles smudges pretty well. I really like the oval center burner, though the flame pattern is a bit wonky on ours unless you actually have a griddle or other piece of cookware on it when it's lit.
